Indian/Abu Dhabi/Brazilian/Grand Prix Seaon Wrap-Up

It was nice to see Hamilton and Webber both win after Vettel's inaugural win in India.

Hamilton was bested by his team mate Button for the first time in his F1 career.

The top 5 drivers all had at least 1 win this season. Let's hope Vettel has a fight on his hands to take a hat-trick title in 2012.

We have an outright winner for India - congratulations to splott (subject to review as this team somehow has 3 drivers!). We also have an outright winner for Abu Dhabi - congratulations to Dom_Sutcliffe. We have joint winners for Brazil in naine and Nik1 so we'll be kind and send prizes to both as Dubai was cancelled this year. DVD Prizes will be on their way shortly. Apologies for the backlog.

We have an outright overall winner for 2012 - congratulations to Rattlehead. 2011 Season Review DVD will be on its way shortly.

Next race is in 2012 (if we're back). Please sponsor us and/or donate towards our costs via the donate button. Thanks for your support in 2011 and maybe before too!

Japanese and Korean Grand Prix

Vettel and Red Bull wrapped up both titles with clinical style.

We have an outright winner again for Japan - congratulations to THC. We also have an outright winner for Korea - congratulations to Harshavardhan_Shatamraj. Prizes will be on their way shortly.

Next race is the inaugural Indian Grand Prix this weekend.

  • Whitmarsh: McLaren intent on adding to title tally in 2012
Running a team with a record of success like McLaren's is no picnic. After a difficult season there is no place to hide, so it helps to be someone who considers the glass half full rather than half empty. Luckily for McLaren, team principal Martin Whitmarsh is a born optimist. Six victories in 2011 was good, but he wants more in 2012. Ahead of next week's launch of the new MP4-27, Whitmarsh speaks exclusively to Formula1.com
  • Fernandes: First point Caterham's 2012 target
Caterham boss Tony Fernandes has admitted he will be a happy man if his team can score their first world championship point this season, after their new CT01 challenger was officially revealed to the public on Thursday. Caterham's best 2011 race placing was 13th, a result they achieved in Australia, Monaco and Italy, but with the addition of KERS just one of several factors set to lift their performance in 2012

  • Serious questions behind the F1 glitter
The last few weeks have seen several long-running F1-related sagas slipping out of the spotlight, but that does not mean that the problems have gone away. The first is the question of whether Formula 1 should go to Bahrain; the second is about the funding of Force India. I should say straight away that Force [...]
  • Some golf, some tennis and a bit of F1 thrown in…
It was a late dinner last night in Abu Dhabi, what with the busy day and the combination of cultures with frenetic Italians meeting laid-back Arabs. It was nearly one by the time we were delivered back to the fancy – and recently renamed Viceroy Hotel, which was called the Yas Island Hotel. It is [...]

  • Lewis Hamilton’s 2011 season: In his own words
It’s been a tough season for Lewis Hamilton. From early on in pre-season testing it became obvious that his McLaren was going to struggle to take on the might of Red Bull, and with each passing race the championship seemed to slip further from his and the team’s grasp. Then came numerous collisions and far [...]
